I bought these to illuminate some decorative lanterns. The light was weak and within days they had dimmed and were totally useless. A few just came apart when I twisted to turn them on. I expected better quality for this price. A complete waste of money.

This item is a hit or miss. I bought 3 candles and only 1 really worked well. Buy extra batteries (a good deal) as they don't last very long.

Of the two lights in the box, one worked well, the other was very dim. Opened the bad one to adjust battery and had a difficult time getting it to close. Still didn't work properly. Gardener's staff was very apologetic when I called and sent another box. But the results were not any better. Both lights were not very bright. Had to tape one closed to get it to work at all.

The first set of these I got didn't work for some reason. Gardners.com called me and asked if they could replace them for me. I wasn't going to return them as I'd gotten such a good deal and it didn't seem worth it. This batch is very nice. Definitely decorative, changing colors as they glow.

These may be brighter than the regular, but not that much more - and the flickering is almost imperceptible.
I returned them. I had wanted them for an outdoor wall sconce - which I bought from Gardener's Supply, but they just weren't bright enough.
They may work well indoors on a dining table wirh lights dimmed down - just don't expect a flame flicker.

Compared to original battery operated tea lights purchased, these are a significant improvement. They are brighter "flames" which have a flickering element to them. However, like most battery operated tea lights, the color is too orange/yellow rather than yellow/white and so color-wise, aren't as "real" as a candle's flame. Additionally, because the switch still sticks out when turned on, the tealights don't sit flat.
