Pros
- Attractive
Cons
- Doesn't hold much
- Easily Broken
Best Uses
- Garden art
Received this as a Christmas gift & placed it near other feeders. Birds found it quicker than expected. Not as popular as tube feeders, but have seen chickadees and tufted titmice at it. Can only fill about halfway due to design. A few days ago found one of the leaves broken on the ground; suspect one of our local raccoons tried to climb it.
- Was this a gift?:
- Yes
Pros
- Blends With Any Landscape
- Easy to incorporate
- Functional
- Great Centerpiece
Cons
- Wife Wanted More Of Them
Best Uses
- Attracting Birds
- Centerpiece Of Garden
This piece was obtained for a present which then bloomed into her idea of a sunflower garden. The piece is simple, easy to maintain, and the birds love it. We know how a landscaped sunflower garden.
Pros
Cons
- Hard to fill
- Poor quality
Best Uses
The feeder is poorly constructed. The weld holding the stake failed when we drove it into the ground. The weld also failed that attaches the door hinge for filling the feeder.
My rating is less than one star
The weld on the stake broke when we first put this feeder in the ground. Two days later the weld on the door failed, so the feeder is permanently open. The birds do seem to like the feeder, but I would spend my money on another, sturdier feeder
Broke almost from the beginning.
Pole really isn't sturdy enough to support the "flower". A good wind will take it down.
Squirrls love it however and break off the petals as soon as they figure out it has food in it!
Major disapointment for the cost.
While it was up the birds did like it and went to it constantly. But that lasted days before it broke for the final time and could not be fixed.
Pros
- Sunflower Head Looks Good
Cons
- Poorly constructed
Best Uses
The foot broke off when I put it in the ground on Christmas day (the ground was totally soft). Then the leaf holder broke when my wife picked it up. I've bought quite a bit of stuff from Gardener's Supply but this is definitely not worth the cost.
Really like the looks of the sunflower. Birds love it too. It's a bit hard to open and I can't fully fill it because seed falls out. Otherwise it's great and I'd get it again.
Pros
- Attractive easy to use
Cons
Best Uses
Nuthatchs and chickedees go to this feeder first.
Looks great in the garden near the window so I can
enjoy the attractive feeder and the birds.
I got this more as garden art then a bird feeder. I do use it for a feeder, but the birds haven't taken to it yet.
I was not crazy about the color, found it a little blah. I lightly sponged on some yellow paint and it really stands out now.
