Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
I have used this garden fabric for years to cover my blueberry bushes. I clip two sections together at the top end with clothespins and am able to get at the ripening berries easily. It keeps the birds away very effectively and I've never had any trouble with it. I just love it and have purchased more for bug control in my vegetable bed.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
This product seems more fragile than the regular Garden Fabric. The wind and the neighborhood cats had it in shreds within 2 days. If you live somewhere windy, get a heavier fabric. I can't tell you what to do about the neighborhood cats.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
This product was so useful to keep out the harsh sun rays and also to keep the bug population down.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
I used summerweight garden fabric to protect young plants from insects and to reduce heat stress caused by direct sun. The fabric allows just the right amount of light to pass through, and it does not trap enough heat to cause withering and heat stress. Rain passes right through, so you don't have to hand-water the plants as much.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
I use this for grasshopper control. It is light weight, but durable. I do have to figure out how to stake it down because we do have lots of wind.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
We used the fabric for covering blueberries which ripened as well or better under the fabric.
The main drawback was that while the fabric was long enough (20') it was far from wide enough (6') even with two lengths clothes-pinned together. A real problem as birds and beasties could easily get under it and DID. Please ask the manufacturer to provide wider widths.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
I looked all over for a summer row cloth that would reduce the summer heat and allow me to extend the life of my spring lettuce and spinach and the only place I could find it was at Gardener's Supply. I probably got another month of lettuce out of my plants because of this row cloth. I'm now using it for bug control (beetles and vineborers on summer squash plants and Kale). And when fall comes I'll use it to extend the life of producing plants. [...]. I bought the 25 ft roll which gave me options - [...]. This is a basic product that I'm using many ways and I'm glad I bought it. My garden is better for it.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
For several years after creating a new garden I had wondered why my beet and spinach seedlings disappeared soon after emerging. I thought it could be the seed was old, or my ph was off. Soon after seeing a rabbit in my unfenced garden, I decided to cover my seed with the light weight insect barrier. I had used it to prevent flea beetles from creating lace out of my eggplant leaves and to keep cabbage moths off my broccoli, but I never thought I would I use it to keep the rabbits out of my beets and spinach. It worked! I have luscious huge beets, and finally am picking spinach.
