Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
I used to get so frustrated to see my little seedlings one day then the next day they would be gone. My parsley plant would be nothing but stem. Now I cover my garden with this gardening cloth and the seedlings survive and turn into vegetables and my herbs are there when I want to use them. The main problem is that I can't see that the spinach and lettuce should be harvested. It also makes weeding more difficult because the cover has to be removed. But I did find a convenient way to weigh down the long sides. I bought recycled plastic planks to hold down the sides. They are easy to flip over to uncover the fabric so I can access the plants.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
I bought this fabric to cover my tomatoes and other plants I started from seed when I took them outside for the first time. It worked great on the porch while they were exposed to only a little sun and did very well once we moved the plants out to the raised beds. The 85% light transmittance allowed the plants to slowly adapt to the high sun exposure we get (Eastern WA) while not overheating them! I am so happy with how my tomatoes look this year I will be using this fabric every time. There was plenty on the bolt to cover my 6 by 4 foot raised bed, half of another and there's a lot left over for next year! It is very thin and tore a bit on the tomato cages I had it over, but I am not surprised or disappointed.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
This is the first time for this product. I am using it on my blueberry bushes to keep the birds out. The only comment I would have is that I would prefer it to be green, so it wouldn't stick out in the landscape

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
I ordered this garden cover for two reasons: 1) protect plants from bugs and 2) for frost protection. Don't buy it for the frost protection!! On May 23rd, we had an unusually late frost and I used the cover for 10, 15" tomato plants, several watermelon and cantaloupe plants, and my herbs. The cover states in the description that it protects down to 28 degrees. Our frost was 32 degrees and I lost all my tomatoes, the melon plants and some of my herb plants. Besides all the planting, watering and tending time, the cost to replace everything will be at least $50; more if I purchase comparably sized plants. My tomatoes and herbs had been planted for several weeks and were thriving. Customer Service says they will refund my money for the cost of the cloth but no compensation (catalog credit) for the cost of replacing all my plants. The cloth "may" work very well for bug protection but I am extremely disappointed that it didn't do what it said it would for frost protection and even more disappointed in the lack of willingness for Gardeners Supply to compensate me for my loss. I got an apology but in my opinion that was not enough. Gardeners Supply used to be one of my favorite sources for my gardening needs.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
I have finally found a way to keep the birds away from my tomatoes and the rabbits away from my veggies!. I just draped these over my plants and secured them. I have fought with birds over my tomatoes for years and this is the first year I have won! I have tried the nets in the past and they always got through or worse, got trapped in them.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
I like to make sure plants are pest free as I set them out and cover immediately with this cloth. Then you don't have to worry about spraying for insects etc.because they can't get on the plants. Be sure to weight the cover down so nothing can get under the edges and the wind cannot blow it up.
