Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
I have finally found a way to keep the birds away from my tomatoes and the rabbits away from my veggies!. I just draped these over my plants and secured them. I have fought with birds over my tomatoes for years and this is the first year I have won! I have tried the nets in the past and they always got through or worse, got trapped in them.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
I like to make sure plants are pest free as I set them out and cover immediately with this cloth. Then you don't have to worry about spraying for insects etc.because they can't get on the plants. Be sure to weight the cover down so nothing can get under the edges and the wind cannot blow it up.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
Need to keek lopper worms off my broccoli & Brussels sprouts. So this keeps the moths that lay eggs out. The only problem I had with the fabric was the size. My garden is 12. X 6 and the fabric is 6x50. So I had to cut it in half and Velcro it together to fit my garden.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
Using on squash to keep insects at bay; once both male and female flowers form will remove cover for the pollinators to get to flowers. It may be that I can just raise it higher and the pollinators will still find the flowers on the various squash vines.

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
I'm so glad that I found this product! I had given up on growing zucchini and yellow squash due to the squash vine borers that would attack my garden every year. And the funny thing is, they fly in (from who knows where). The only way to prevent this is to apply the garden cover. It work fantastic!!

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
I bought this to sew custom covers for my collards, which I plant in 5-gallon buckets as I have just a patio on which to grow vegetables. Every spring the cabbage worms have ravaged my little crop. I hate using chemicals or even Dipel on stuff that I eat, so covering the collards seemed the perfect answer. I planted three small collard plants each ('Georgia' variety) in 5-gal buckets with drilled holes in the bottom and filled with Miracle-Gro 'Pro-Mix'. Then inserted circular wire tomato frames and covered the frames with custom-stitched covers made from the summerweight garden fabric (which my husband dubbed a "collard condom":). My collards get all the sun they need but are completely protected from the hated cabbage worms. Since I bought the 50-ft size, I'll be making these covers for years to come. Many thanks for making this great product available! Lucy XXOO

Cons

Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
Overall this is a fine item, it is easy to use and covers my garden nicely. But after less than a month, it already has several tears in it. I have it pinned securely with clothespins to my Super Hoops, and it just seems to be wearing out much more quickly than I had expected, apparently just due to normal wind. It will still keep the deer out of my strawberries, though, and considering the low price, I think it's probably worth it. But don't plan on getting several years out of this, because I don't know if it'll even survive this summer.
Pros
- Durable
- Easy To Use
- Good Value For The Money
- Light weight
- Reduces Number Of Pests
Cons
- Not Wide Enough For Rows
Best Uses
- Pest Prevention
- Protects Against Wind
Comments about Summerweight Garden Fabric:
This product is great for reducing the number of pests you have to fight. It doesn't stop all the pests, but it does significantly cut down on them saving you a great deal of time & effort. It also protects small, new plants against wind and heavy rain damage. The only negative is that its not wide enough to fit across a 3-4ft row w/hoops, so you have to use 2, but it is plenty long enough.
