This a wonderful product. Handles algae growth, but leaves some for the fish to eat. It goes in a small black container that you just twist off to refill. very easy to use and fast installation.

My rain barrels develop a strong odor and the water turns bad after several weeks sitting in the 100+ heat. After talking to the people at Gardners.com, they recommended that I try this product, but cut each packet into quarters (a more appropriate size for my 75-gal. barrels). I did that and put the packets in the already bad water, but it did nothing to clear it up. After some recent rains, the water did smell better, but I am guessing it is because most of the bad water was forced out by the new rain water. I am not pleased with this product, but I can't say it won't work if you put it in when your water is still good.
