Comments about Steppin' Edger:
It is easy to use but I question the integrity of the cutting blade. The tool seemed to work efficiently enough until I hit some packed clay, then it folded over like a cheap card table. I 'm strong but not that strong as I weigh around 155lbs, probably not replacing with another one.

Comments about Steppin' Edger:
I read all the reviews posted about this product prior to purchasing. There were a few comments about how it was not easy to use or how it didn't do the job. Please, I am not meaning to offend anyone when I say this: I am not a technical person (in fact, rather clumsy), but I was able to use this item very easily, without reading the directions. In fact, once I did read them, I found out that I was using the item "backward"! Yes, it doesn't make a wide, or trench, cut, that one frequently sees as the edge along sidewalks, but it cuts the overgrowth very easily. I even used it to carve out another planting space. It is very sturdy and, with care (as in not leaving it out in the rain) it should last longer than me!

Comments about Steppin' Edger:
I used a "Big Foot" edger for years; lost in some move between states. I did not think I would find anything similar. This is very similar and does a great job in edging between lawn and flower beds. The blade is strong and sharp. With a little practice it cuts straight, curved edges or even angles. Important to cut just a few inches at a time, then gently angle the tool away from the lawn to separate the unwanted sod from the lawn. I just completed a large job in terrible soil along an edged that had never been maintained. With this tool, it was relatively quick, easy and the best tool for the job. Thank you for carrying this product.

Used this product to measure and mark my flowerbeds. Worked soooo much better than a spade (which I had used previously).

Comments about Steppin' Edger:
We just got this a yesterday, and it's already been put through quite the test. Our sidewalk probably hasn't been edged since it was put in, somewhere on the order of 20 years ago (long before we bought the house). The walk had become severely sunken, and, as we didn't find out until using it yesterday, overgrown by about 10 inches of grass.
The edger managed to cut our grass back to where it should have been edged, and tore through over two inches of soil to get level with the sidewalk! I will mention that, in these extreme cases, having two people working the edger (one for stomping it, and one pulling the sod away) and using a shovel to pull away the overgrown grass is pretty much a necessity. I also had to take to jumping on the edger to get it to cut through all of that soil. The sidewalk looks better than it had in years, and only took a few hours to cut away all of that excess soil and grass on a 80' sidewalk!
My only complaint, which isn't the product's fault, is that now I have to deal with having two inches of exposed soil under the grass surrounding our sidewalk due to the years of neglect.
