I have been wanting one for so long and now finally own one!! It's great for all my house plants. My house is terrible for light and this is a great solution for that. It arrived all without anything broken (which is great considering I live in the middle of nowhere Alaska). The wood is very nice and looks very striking (better than I thought). The assemble would probably be the only thing that I would say was less than stellar but I did get it together without having to modify anything (unlike some other people) I kept getting the black bars mixed up because they only go together a certain way or they don't fit into the wood base. I love this item and can't wait to get more shelves to add (I wish I would have bought this though when the price went down!)

I recently bought the Sun Shelf base model with two additional shelves and lights for my office.

The unit looks nice and is suitable for an office environment - it looks like a piece of furniture and not as flimsy as other light stands can.

Only problem I have had, like one of the other reviewers, is that the connector cable between the two light on the same shelf is too short (I'm not trying to connect the light between different shelves). A different reviewer did not have this problem so maybe there are different versions of this product.

The Sunshelf is first off a beautiful piece of furniture. With the grow lights, I can keep a vast variety of plants anywhere I want. I don't have to put everything in windows or keep the shades open all day.

Very good item, assembly was easy. If there was one complaint I would like to see a custom set of humidity trays for this product.

With the additional shelf, it fits under my dining room window beautifully. I had trouble with assembly, but the help I got from e-mailing Gardener's Supply help line put me on the right track. Now I have a place to start seeds.

Metal frame wobbles a bit, but very easy to adjust with felt pad. I use it in a corner of the front room that doesn't have any natural light. Am considering replacing a bookcase with three of these stacked together.

The sun shelf brings green plants into my living room for the first time. There is no direct sun and not much light even in the most favorable season. We are using the sun shelf as an end table, and it is very attractive.

The long metal bars (that connect to the square metal pieces) are too long by 1/16 inch. To get it to fit into the wooden shelves, you have to damage the wood (route out a slot in the wood) or reduce the length of the metal bars by griding them. It appears that the designer did not take into account how the screw heads would add to the length of the frame after assembly.

This unit makes a great lamp/end table, because it's so attractive, and also functions well to hold small plants on the bottom shelf with the grow light.
The assembly instructions were NOT very clear or helpful, but it went together easily when I finally figured out where each part was designed to go.
