The openings on this stylish feeder are just the right size for finches, nuthatches and other small birds, but keep out jays and other feeder bullies. The latching top stays firmly in place to help keep burglar squirrels out of your birdseed. Our Globe Cage Feeder is especially effective against gray squirrels.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I hung it on the same prop that holds my upside down tomato holder in the summer months. It is in view of our sun room and the cats love watching the birds fly in and out.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The squirrels had latching top broken in first day. The chain broke immediately. To keep top on and prevent squirrels from opening we have to duct tape. The wire is pretty flimsy and I was charged too much for this bird feeder. Was really excited about ordering but could have gotten a better feeder for less at hardware store.

I'm happy that we finally have feeders that will not be destroyed by the pesky squirrels, and hopefully will last longer than a season.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I've read many of the reviews and many people mention about seed falling through. This type of feeder is for either nuts or sunflower seeds or a combo of them. Thistle seed (the seed that finches like) is too small of a seed to stay in this type of feeder. I believe there may be a feeder similar to this that has a screen for thistle seed but squirrels aren't normally interested in that type of seed anyway. If you still have squirrels going after the feeder, use a squirrel guard/rain guard. I've tried just about every kind of feeder out there and with the exception of 2 or 3, there just aren't any truly squirrel proof feeders on the market. The big bonus with this feeder is that it reduces the number of large birds that hog the feeders especially during the winter and springtime.

This product protects small birds. It is a great feeder for goldfinches and black capped chickadees. Fun to watch them go in and out of the globe.

Small birds love this feeder! And no worries about squirrels or raccoons getting at the top, we've hung it on a shepherd's crook with a raccoon baffle.
