Each mat had to be modified to fit a standard Rainbird sprinkler head. They are made of rubber that shred into tiny bits when enlargened to provide proper hole size. Once modified,which only took a minute for each one, they were very good so I ordered more.

It is a great solution to areas on the lawn and I also used it in with the recycled mulch areas!

I expected something 1/2 inch thick at most and was greatly surprised at the sturdiness. Some of them, I bought 3 sets of 3 each, had to be cut to fit between the stones and the sprinkler heads and it was a little work getting it done. What a difference it makes in the look of the lawn and keeps the resident mole from chucking up dirt onto the sprinkler heads. He's my next project. LOL

These were purchased for two reasons. First, of course, to assure that the sprinkler heads were free of containment by creeping grasses. However, I have sprinkler heads near the street, with no curb. These mats make it clear where the sprinklers are, and vehicles that park on the grass (Yuck!) can avoid running over the sprinklers. In the main lawn, I can easily tell where the heads are located, should they need maintenance. The heads are also located for fall core aeration by others.They install easily -- simply dig around the sprinkler head to recess the mat to ground level. The lawnmower ignores them, so there are no issues mowing the grass.Warning! They smell like rubber (duh!). Any that aren't in use I keep in a sealed plastic tote. The odor is not at all noticeable outdoors, but is pervasive indoors (garage).I'm delighted with the product[...].

I have always been pleased with the products I have purchased. Would love to purchase more but you tend to be a bit pricey

These protect the sprinkler heads from my lawnmower, garden cart, and kids playing! Makes them easy to spot when time to aerate -- i don't have to flag them. Keeps the grass from growing over the sprinklers in the lawn, and keeps the mulch from washing over them in the flower beds. And i love that they are made from recycle materials!

Not only do the mats work great, they help identify our sprinklers from the neighbors sprinklers which are on the property line. I will be ordering more when needed for the back yard. Enlarging the center hole takes a little worthwhile time.
