Spinosad is the Best All-Purpose Insecticide for Organic Gardening
- Organic spray controls many insect pests

Spinosad is a soil-dwelling bacterium that controls dozens of insect pests: bagworms, borers, beetles, spider mites, tent caterpillars, loopers, and many, many more. Yet it has a low environmental impact because, once dry, it only kills insects that ingest it. That means you won’t harm bees or other beneficial insects (just spray in the evening when they are not active).
- Contains spinosad (spinosyn A and spinosyn D)
- Ready-to-use spray is a 32-ounce bottle
- 18-ounce concentrate makes 8 gallons
- Always read and follow label directions carefully

Comments about Spinosad Pest Control Spray:
I tried Captain Jack's Dead Bug to get rid of flea beetles eating up my broccoli. I used it several times. It washed the flea beetles off the plant and might have drowned a few, but within hours they were back. Another brand of Spinosad killed the flea beetles and saved my broccoli. Captain Jack's is no better than spraying water.

Comments about Spinosad Pest Control Spray:
I use this sponosad-based product for all insect and pest problems. This product especially is effective to control apple maggots -- a problem I had until two years ago, and haven't had a problem since. As an Oregon State University Extension master gardener consultant I recommend this product often to home growers as a safe, economical and effective solution to controlling all sorts of pests/insects that can damage plants, vegetables, and fruit trees/shrubs and fruiting vines. Four applications beginning in June and then about every 14 days (esp. for fruit trees)will keep pests/insects at bay -- not affecting the safe consumption of vegetables nor fruits.

Comments about Spinosad Pest Control Spray:
This is the only thing between my poor pole bean sprouts and the grasshoppers. It works, but I have to spray two or three times a week, sometimes every day, since the lightest rain or sprinkler will wash it off. It's saving my sprouts but you have to be very persistant.

Comments about Spinosad Pest Control Spray:
After reading directions carefully, and using product for more than a week, I still see the insects it claims to control. Not sure this product is working. Hoped to find an organic solution to pest control in my veg garden. Not convinced this is the one.
