I bought the garland after the Christmas holiday to use next year but found it so attractive that I used it with my St. Patrick's Day decorations. I also plan to use it for Easter. It's attractive, easy to use and adds a sparkle to every holiday.

I purchased this after Christmas '08 for our fireplace mantel during the clearance sale. We already had icicle lights (that look like real icicles) on the mantel. I purposely did not take down the Christmas decorations until this garland arrived. As soon as it arrived, I added to the decorations. To be quite honest, I wasn't impressed seeing it just in the box. Boy, did I get a BIG surprise! I love it so much that I have not taken it down yet but the Christmas decor is gone. I have 2 large pale green vases on one side of the mantel(that were from my mom's funeral), a slate fountain in the center, and on the other side I have three various height candleholders (you can fill the base with decor of your choice--I have cateye glass rocks in each). The garland brings everything together. We also have skylights in this room so the garland sparkles beautifully when the sun hits it. Since it is made of wire, you can bend and shape it to your liking. Great buy for a great price!!!

Since Oasis foam, used to keep fresh flowers in place in an arragement, is NOT biodegradable this would be a decorative alternative to something like chicken wire in a clear vase.
