Our Area Solar Light shines with 16 LEDs and is not only brighter than other solar lights on the market, it also outshines many low-voltage lights. Yet high light output is just part of the story. This light is superior in every way to the cheaper ones you see elsewhere that last a single season, if you're lucky. Ours has a seamless, weather-tight, anodized aluminum housing (not the fragile plastic casings found on many lights) and the circuitry is soldered by hand. Every unit is tested before it leaves the factory. Plus, this area light provides a wider angle of coverage than most spotlights.
The light turns on automatically at dusk, and runs up to 12 hours on a full day's charge. It has high-capacity, long-lasting, earth-friendly NiMH batteries that keep it shining even after several cloudy days. May be mounted on the lawn, on a deck or on a wall; the solar panel mounts separately so it can be positioned for optimal solar exposure — up to 15 feet away. LED bulbs never need replacing.

We use this product in a very harsh salt air environment and the lights last 2-3 years. These lights are used to illuminate entrance signs to our development and function very well. They require no maintenance during the time they are in service. We are currently on our 4th set of lights, as they are the ONLY lighting fixtures we can use that meet our lighting requirements.

I wanted the spot light to light up a tree in the corner of the property. I was disappointed with the poor illumination given the price of the light. I think a 60 watt light bulb would throw more light.

The range between solar panel and spotlight is very helpful. Our front steps need illumination at night, in an area that is shady by day. I am able to place the solar panel in a spot that receives sun and shine the actual spotlight on nearby entrance steps. This is my second purchase of this product. The first one I use as an uplight for a 5'statue - the illumination is subtle and a lovely enhancement. The light weathered a New England winter well - so far.

It's pretty basic in design, should've been a snap to put together. But the directions (from China, of course) are useless. Illustrations of parts that aren't included, box includes parts that are not in the illustration. NOTHING fit together.
Then, based on the reviews I read (so many saying it didn't light up very much of the space it was purchased for) I realized it was probaby not going to work for my yard, either. Even if I could manage to set it up.
I sent it back, and it was an expensive mistake. (Shipping to and fro). Very disappointing purchase.

Well made - good solar panel. High capacity batteries. Maximum brightness only lasts about 2 hours. With so many LEDS you should not expect the brightness to last very longer without a much lager panel batteries. This is the best I have found like this.
