I thought this was a good concept (sleek design, backlight, etc.) and would make a great gift but it's been an embarasement. With the first one, the temperature and time functions didn't ever activate-- so I exchanged it. With the second one the backlight ego mode didn't activate and it's anywhere from 3 to 6 degrees off. Also the screen doesn't read well unless it's at eye level which makes it tricky to hang.

WE use it primarily to check the temperature upon arising in the morning, and to see how cold it had gotten during the night.
It is very easy to read; easier than a normal glass tube thermometer.
It's just great!

We like to know what the temperature is so we know how to dress when we go out. We like the ability to place it on the window for easy access and great readability. The only problem with placing it in the sun for solar panel regeneration is that the temperature is then inaccurate.

I had to purchase a second one after I dropped and broke the first when I was trying to install it. I was not happy with myself having to pay another [$]!! That's how much I love this product --- I paid twice. I love it --- very large numbers make it so easy to read.

I was excited to be able to stand in the kitchen and know the outside temperature. However, I was shocked to see it was 75 degrees in February, during one of the coldest Winters I've gone through here. Apparently direct sunlight on the back of the thermometer affects the accuracy.

Gave this to my 77 yr old Father for Christmas. He nor my brother-in-law could get it to work. Thought it would be great, since the one before worked wonderfull. It didn't light up and that's what he wanted. Very disappointed.
