Comments about Solar Rain Barrel Pump:
Here is what's missing from the instructions:
When you zero in on the sun, the light on top of the pump will flash (red, or yellow, or green)a couple of times on it's own to let you know you are getting the maximum charge potential.
The color of the light just indicates how depleted the battery is. This color changes as it charges up.

Comments about Solar Rain Barrel Pump:
If the product would work reliably, it would be a great product! There are a lot of places a garden hose attached to the house doesn't reach and this would solve the problem. I am totally in favor of solar products -- the problem is the quality of the stuff being sold, Simply hit and miss.

Comments about Solar Rain Barrel Pump:
Our Solar Rain Barrel Pump arrived in the late afternoon on one day and after another full day of charging we were pumping water. It's nice to just push a button to get running water from the rain barrels, we use to have to wait for gravity to fill the watering can or set up the electric pump to water our raised beds.
We have the Solar Pump set up on one of our 400 gallon containers. We are able to pump just about 100 gallons to our raised beds that sit about 100ft (slightly downhill) from the rain barrels. The charging panel has plenty of cord so that if your barrel is in the shade you can set the panel up away from the pump unit to catch the sun. I was pleasantly surprised with the amout of water pressure from the pump, we are able to use a regular hand held sprayer just as we would if we had the hose hooked up to the $$$ city's water system. We may buy a second pump as a back up this one.

Comments about Solar Rain Barrel Pump:
I set the solar panel in a garden that gets sun from 1 pm to 7 pm every day (faces SW) and the batteries won't charge. Got 30 seconds of pump once and now nothing.
