The 'arms' of the snowflakes arrived bent in different directions. Metal was soft enough to bend them back, but then they were not straight. Don't know if this will stand up to a heavy snowfall.

I bought this as a gift for family members who own a cabin in the mountains (where four feet of snow can happen overnight!). They loved it! However, the box that it was shipped in was crushed and bent and so was the gauge. We were able to straighten the metal easily. The one-piece gauge actually came in two pieces that screwed together and seemed to be a bit flimsy...
