Although this appears to be well-designed and is certainly easy to construct, for the price there should be a matching cover provided.
The page of information on composting that is on the back side of the instructions is helpful!

My old black plastic composer (provided by my city) had broken so I treated myself to this wooden one. I am very happy with it! It hwicks twice what the old one did, is prettier, makes it easier on my back and composts faster. It's the best!

This went together easily and looks great. The first time I dismantled it to turn the compost, however, many of the boards split down the length. I called and got replacement boards (gardeners supply was helpful), but the same thing happened again.

I originally purchased two, and upon arrival and assembly I ordered two more. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, ... These are attractive and very easy to assemble. However after two months numerous slats were splitting, some completely in two. I started wondering which would turn to compost first, the leaves or the composter. So I'll be spending the next few days disassembling, repairing, and treating with a real preservative. Since this are made in China I figure they are already coated with something toxic. Buy it only if you are willing to do some preventive maintenance.

It takes 5 minutes to put together, looks great, works much faster than previous plastic box, easy to turn, no smell. I made a folding lid out of four boards, so can open and close to let in rain. Great product. Took old bin to the dump.

I'm a city girl living at the edge of a prairie and woods and it would have been VERY nice to see some assembly instructions with this composting bin. I've looked at the couple of online photos and will be hauling the wood out and putting it together today, but REALLY could have used a little assistance. Just a sheet of paper with a couple diagrams would have helped. And why do you no longer sell the top that went with it? I have to pay someone to put one together for me to keep the critters out. Very nice compost bin, but...
