I ordered 3 of the 15" self-watering planters for my deck. The assembly was very easy, and they roll easily which is plus when you want to adjust for the sun or shade. Using the special self-watering soil recommended by the company, the plants receive water in a way that benefits their growth. My flowers have really done well in these planters! I consider this purchase an investment for several years to come.

This planter does exactly what it is supposed to do. My tomatoes look amazing! Now I just have to keep the squirrels from digging up the spinach. The assembly instructions are in French, but the website has a link to a PDF in English so no big deal there. Also, the water gage seems less than accurage but excess water will drain out of the bottom and let you know when it's full.

Using on my deck to hold geraniums. Great because I can move it to follow sunlight. I bought two and followed the simple directions for punching out drainage holes on the second one. I cracked the first one by not following directions.

Comments about Self-Watering Rolling Planters, 15":
As this planter is not insulated/double-walled, it probably needs to be stored over cold winter months in New England. For that reason, I decided to buy these planters and use them only in Spring-Fall and am growing a collection of herbs in them. The water reservoir is large and the water level indicator useful to know when I really do need to add water.
A note of caution, the instructions describe how to use a hammer to create holes for water drainage in the base of the planter before you assemble and fill it. Be sure to keep your planter on the ground when doing this, preferably on a stone/asphalt surface. If you tip the planter at an angle to use the hammer, you risk splitting the plastic where the water drainage holes are molded to the base, and then the water reservoir will leak.

As a Senior and former home gardner, I find the Self-Watering Planters great to satisfy my gardening needs on a balcony. The large water capacity also saves a lot of labor, especially in the Florida endless sunny season. Tried two and purchased four more. Easy to move around to give the balcony different looks.

Follow the directions. When punching out the drain holes- have it on a flat surface. I waited until after putting on the casters and cracked the bottom. Still works, but doesn't retain water as it should.

Beautiful, bountiful planters depend on good soil, fertilizer and careful watering. But to take your planters from standard to sensational, you need the right plants. Start with this simple rule: Combine plants with three different habits. In other words, thrillers, fillers and spillers.
