Comments about Self-Watering Rolling Planters, 17":

We needed planters to go on the sides of our garage door where the sun never shines. We filled the planters with your self-watering mix and planted impatiens which do not like sun, but do like water. The results are spectacular, full lush planters. If it rains we can easily move the planters to capture the extra moisture and when we are away, which is often, the gauge lets our 10 year old grandson know when to add water.

Comments about Self-Watering Rolling Planters, 17":

I bought these planters two years ago, 2 small and one large, to go in front of my house. One of the small ones had a wheel break off in the first season. They have plastic pegs that stick out of the bottom of the pot and into a hole in the wheel. One of these broke. I replaced it with a piece of wooden dowel so it does work but you cannot pick up the pot or the wheel and peg fall off. Last year we had a torrential downpour in May. One week later everything in the planters was dying. I discovered the pots were full of water and the plants had drowned. The overflow plugs were not punched out. I had to empty each planter and punch out the drains, replacing the dirt and buy new plants. These are not cheap planters and they have affected my faith in Gardener's Supply.

Comments about Self-Watering Rolling Planters, 17":

I can't tell yet if they will hold up to the weather. They look lovely, but I was very disappointed that the casters (wheels) were small and weak. They immediately began to break. I had hardly moved the plant and first one broke and then another. I ended up removing all four wheels from each pot and putting them on a wheeling plant holder. I had gotten a cheap planter from a hardware store that has stronger casters. Too bad.

I replaced my patio planters with these planters this year after using the self watering window boxes last year. They look great, and I am looking forward to not having to water them every night.

I liked the 6 of these planters I bought last lear I decided to add a couple of more. The red color is prone to a bit of fading in sunny areas, but I have never mer a red color that didn't. I still like them.

I use it for tomato plants on my deck. It gets hot on the deck so I thought the self-watering feature would be helpful ... It is helpful with an easy to fill and read level indicator right on top. Looks great as well, but very disappointed a wheel broke off immediately after planting without added weight of water :(. If the rolling feature is not important to you I think it's OK. Didn't return.

Poor quality. Wheel broke off the first time I tried to move the planter on cement. Would never roll on grass. Suggest you pass on this item.

I have my planters outside and have found that the only problem is over watering if we get a strong rain. Fortunately with the wheels it easy to move undercover. My plants are doing great with the consistent watering instead of intermittent.
