      Comments about Self-Watering Patio Planters:

I bought this for growing herbs on a cart by the kitchen door. The idea was to set it down inside the cart, so just the plants would show above the edge. I have some of the self watering window boxes, which I like, and assumed the opening for this planter's reservoir would be at the top above the soil line as those are. But this planter is watered from the side, so I won't be able to open and fill the reservoir once I set it inside the cart.
Don't want to pay to ship it back, so I'll use it somewhere else--it seems sturdy and will hold a lot of soil and plants--but I wish the watering system for this style planter had been better described in the catalog.

        Comments about Self-Watering Patio Planters:

I am using these for herbs, vegetables, and decorative plants. In my area I could never keep plants alive because I could not keep them watered enough in the heat of the summer. I have had great success with these for at least 4 years now, which is why I just ordered 11 more. I am using them in place of a "bed". They are far more water efficient.

            Comments about Self-Watering Patio Planters:

We live in a condo that has a decent sized patio however, leave many weekends to go camping for several days at a time and have resisted planting anything that needs to be watered often. We noticed a neighbor who has been using one of these for her herb garden and couldn't wait to get one of our own. We now have an herb garden and have been able to use fresh herbs in our cooking, salads, etc. This is amazing, what really makes it work for us is the large water reservoir. We just got back from a 4-day trip and our herbs looked as healthy as the day we left!! We will be purchasing a couple more of these next year so we can grow some vegetables.

                Comments about Self-Watering Patio Planters:

I have a balcony on my condo and it is the perfect spot for all five of my patio planters. They have been filled with all sorts of herbs and flowers to create a beautiful area where I can sit and watch the bees do their work. The drainage is perfect for our often unpredictable northwest climate and the planters winter over very well. Adding the wheels makes it so easy to move them around to get maximum sun.

                  Comments about Self-Watering Patio Planters:

Gophers demolished our entire outdoor gardens despite our use of hardware cloth in raised beds. We dropped these planters into the raised beds and made "hats" of hardware cloth to keep the rabbits and squirrels out and now have squash, greens, tomatoes, cantaloupe and watermelons growing alongside the flowers. Very pleased.

                  Comments about Self-Watering Patio Planters:

I bought two of these planters to grow a small patio garden with my toddler. We are not experts by any means, and like the idea of a little less watering to do. I had them shipped to my dad, who put them together for me because he was taking care of our seedlings for a while. He had a hard time figuring out the assembly of the self-watering feature. Despite this hiccup, we LOVE these planters. I have them along a walkway, where they take up a decent amount of space but are full of cherry tomato plants, herbs, fairy tale eggplant, and even a couple of beets. They are deep and wide and should work with almost any kind of veggie. I might buy the self-watering hanging planters next year since these work so well (I've only watered 2-3 times, and it has been 95 degrees and sunny here).

                    Comments about Self-Watering Patio Planters:

I bought 2 containers for my patio. One I planted herbs. In the other I planted 2 tomato plants. The plants are very healthy and beautiful. I have had great success with the herbs: basil, chives, thyme, oregano. The tomato plants are very healthy. Too early for tomatoes - but there are many flowers.
I especially like the color of the planter - bronze - it blends nicely into the lanscape - which is what I wanted.
I also bought the optional wheels and have found it very convenient for watering, etc.
