Comments about Self-Watering Patio Planters:
I use these to extend my small urban gardening area by utilizing available sunny paved areas. These are more attractive and lightweight than the black Earthboxes I had previously used. The current planters are better designed with the overflow and fill on the side than the previous ones that you had to remove plugs on the bottom with pliers for them to drain.
I have used these planting boxes for early lettuce, for tomatoes & peppers in the summer as well as holding bins for perennials that I have divided. I have even grown spring bulbs in them. They are just great all around pots to make gardening easier for those with limited space.

Comments about Self-Watering Patio Planters:
I use these on my deck and they perform great. I use the casters and I can move them closer to the house if bad weather comes. I only have to water them every three days or so which means I am not a slave to watering. I plan on ordering more in the future.

Comments about Self-Watering Patio Planters:
Last fall I bought a tomato success kit and was so pleased the way it grew lettuce and spinach that I decided to try something much more ambitious this year. I planted two bush cucumbers and one full sized cucumber in it and then trellised them. I had bad luck with the bush cucumbers but the big one just took off and rapidly topped the trellis. I then added more which it also quickly topped and now is spilling over. The only thing I've done to keep the cucumber going is give it extra fertilizer above the recommended amount for this planter. It seemed to run out of steam but the extra fertilizer had it growing and producing lots of cucumbers again. I am very happy with this planter.

Comments about Self-Watering Patio Planters:
I have used these awesome planters year after year after year and cannot get enough of them! I do backyard veggie garden but like to experiment with container gardening as well. These are terrific for tomatoes, lettuce, eggplant, cucumbers . . . you name it! I must say that there have been some rain storms that have left them flooded, however, I just pour off the excess. Tomatoes love these because you do not ever have to get them wet . . . they just suck up what they need. Just make sure to keep them filled and you will have great success. Truly LOVE them.

I have limited sun so I can place these containers in my sunniest spots. I will also use them for lettuce growning through the fall and very early spring.

Used in a greenhouse to grow tomatoes and peppers in an area where it is hard to grow them outside.
The self-watering feature is great for our semi-arid area.
Not so great that I can't buy a few more right now.

Comments about Self-Watering Patio Planters:
Overall, I love this product. I had purchase one last year and decided to get another. However, when my new planter arrived, it did not have the water level indicator that last year's model had. Instead there is a little door on the side for adding water. The only way I can determine the water level is to stick my fingers through the little trap door and feel for the water level. I miss the water indicator very much. Please put it back in.
