I used it for tomato plants and it worked very well. I should have bought the trellis, but did not at the time of ordering. It would be nice if the trellis were sold separately.

I live in a town home with a walled in patio and garden area covered with pine straw. This planter is an answer to prayer for my herbs that I love. They look georgous in it and I can pop out there and grab what I need. I plant to fill it with panseys for the winter when the basil dies. But I hope some of the herbs will winter over in it. This is very attractive and let's me plant lots of herbs right out my back door on my deck. I love these self watering planters, especially with this summers' drought. I am wondering whether the stand will hold up for more than a couple of years as it is very lightweight and there are a ton of places for water to get in over time.
