This system gives my tomatoes and peppers the best early start! The plants are always sturdy, healthy, and ready to move outdoors without ever losing a plant!

Comments about Deep-Root Seedstarting System:
As soon as growth begins, the instructions recommend the vents be opened or to remove the clear top completely. I've found that offsetting the top slightly back, where it is not completely closed off, allows a bit more moisture to stay with the rooting system and gives the proper amount of air and moisture for plants to thrive. They do quite well this way.
For some reason or another, I was born with a green thumb. Everything I plant grows with the passion I feel towards Gods living things.

Worked so well for me that I bought one for my mother as a gift. Best seed starter I've used and I bet it will be lots of fun for my mom!

Comments about Deep-Root Seedstarting System:
I first bought 2 of these 4 years ago for seed starting and they work great for that purpose. They are still in great shape 4 years later. I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on a propagation chamber, so 2 years ago I started using them for cutting propagation. Sterilize soil-less mix in a large pot by pouring in boiling water stirring and covering with lid on until it is cool. Sterilize the unit by dipping all parts in boiling water (I've had no issue with distortion of the plastic). DO NOT Use the Capillary Mat if you are propagating cuttings (they will get too wet and will fungus and/or rot). Just let the cell section sit directly on the green panel that the capillary mat usually sits on. With the lid on, there is little evaporation, so until roots grow, there is usually no watering needed. Misting under the lid once every day or two, and placing the whole thing on a seedstarting mat to keep it warm improved my success rate. This unit has a tall lid (unlike others I've tried) which is nice when growth starts. Easy, fun and very rewarding.

Comments about Deep-Root Seedstarting System:
I used peat pots last year, but the water evaporated right out in the arid Vegas air, I had tons of fruit flies, and lost at least 75% of my seedling. With this & the germinating mix, I was shocked to have 2" & 3" seedlings within 6 days from planting seeds! I water only every 4-5 days, the lid keeps the bugs away and the water from evaporating. I plan to get more. It's very sturdy and reusable. One bag of germinating mix filled nearly 45 of the 4" cells, I would highly recommend using their dirt mix- it's affordable and effective. All in all, I need the most user friendly system I can get, and this certainly has worked for this rookie...

.I planted 12 Hibiscus seeds in the "Deep Root Seed Starting System" in a soil-less medium used for repotting orchids on August 7th and they were up on August 11th. All 12 Plants as of today (August 26) have their second leaf pairs and are two to three inches tall. The most amazing growth I have ever seen.

This deep root seed starting system is great! I just bought a second one for a friend and cannot say enough good things about it. It is great for getting tomatoes started earlier inside - the extra height is key. I have also been using it for propagating plant cutting year round. Great product!

Comments about Deep-Root Seedstarting System:
The durability factor was what interested me initially. I've had systems that last 2 years at best and it can be quite a drain on the budget. This will last a very long time with very little maintenance.
I have a lighted plant stand to start seedlings and bought a couple of these to try. I actually planted them with some seeds that were a couple of years old..."odds and ends"... just to see how they would do. The results were beyond my expectations. And, because of the height of the cover it accommodated the different size seedlings.

I love this product - have 5 and will buy 3 more next year. It is perfect in every way. If you take good care of it, it should last a lifetime. However, DO NOT PUT THE GREEN PARTS IN THE DISHWASHER as I did and they came out twisted. The black seed tray does fine in the dishwasher and it a great way to get them really clean.
