Bottom Heat Jump-Starts Your Seedlings

  • Heat Mats provide consistent bottom heat for fast germination and vigorous root growth
  • Can be used indoors or in greenhouse
  • Available in three sizes

These Heat Mats speed seed germination and stimulate root growth by keeping soil at about 70º F. Here's a clever extra — instructions and growing tips are printed right on the mat, so you can't lose them. 9" x 19" mat holds a standard seed flat. 20-3/4" square mat holds two standard seed flats. 48" x 20" mat holds 4 flats. All sizes have 6-ft power cords.

  • Warms root area 10 to 20 degrees above ambient temperature
  • 19" x 9" mat is 20 watts
  • 20-3/4" square mat is 45 watts
  • 48" x 20" mat is 107 watts
  • 6' power cord

Living in the north, it is really nice to be able to start seeds early and so many of those seeds need a warm temp to germinate. This mat makes that possible!

                Comments about Heat Mats:

I used a heating pad last year to start my seeds as I do not have central heat. It made such a difference that this Spring, I bought two for my new two-tier seed starting cabinet.
When I realized that the mats had to go under the special automatic watering fabric mats, I enclosed them in plastic trash bags.
A month later, I potted up the seedlings, and removed the mats. Took off the plastic bags, and they were in perfect condition.
I consider these to be a part of starting seeds, and NOT an expensive luxury.

This product had my tomato seeds up in a week. Pepper seeds a few days later. It works better than just sunlight and speeds germination.
Great product and I'll be purchasing another for more seed beds.

I bought the 48" heat mat to aide in germenating seeds for spring planting. It works great. The mat is well constructed and definitely makes a huge difference when starting seeds. The size fits 4 flats perfectly.

                              Comments about Heat Mats:

I bought this heated mat to jump start seedlings that benefit from the added heat to the soil. It works just as promised - the seeds popped up earlier than usual. The only con, if it is a con, is that the heat causes the self watering plant tray system I have to run low on water every day and a half. I just have to keep a close eye on it.
