Comments about Seascape Strawberries, 25 Plants:
Although I did lose a few after a couple of wks in the ground, I am sure it was my fault and hoping they may still bounce back. The ones remaining are doing very well and just got my first bloom...can't wait to taste the fruit. Product arrived in good moist condition and planted the same day. Looking forward to canning some strawberry jam :)

Comments about Seascape Strawberries, 25 Plants:
These poor strawberry plants arrived looking....well I'm not sure what I was expecting since I have never purchased strawberry roots before. However, I planted them and within days they were blooming and were an inch tall. It was amazing. It has been about a month with cold temps and lots of rain and these plants have been amazing. They are about 5-6' tall and all have tons of blooms and small berries.

Comments about Seascape Strawberries, 25 Plants:
I read about this type of strawberry in an article last fall that local Amish were planting them and they were getting strawberries up until the 1st frost! Looked for them online and decided to purchase here. When they arrived they appeared dried out but I hurried and planted them right away in organic potting soil and organic soil booster. I left the pots outside and they were rained on for the next few days. Less than 2 weeks later they are beautiful bright green thriving and already quite a few strawberries on them. Instructions say to pinch them off but I'm not going to because the root systems on these plants were really good already. I am really surprised at how fast they started to produce and cant wait to see how much they produce and taste the 1st berry. So far so good. I am very pleased. ;)

The strawberry plants are growing but the fruit is very small and tart. I was hoping for large fruit that is sweet.

Comments about Seascape Strawberries, 25 Plants:
Planted half of these as soon as I received them and ran out of space in my garden. I put the other half in the refrigerator while another garden box was waiting to be built. The box took longer than expected and the plants ended up staying in the refrigerator for more than a month. I was expecting to have to throw them out, but they were in good shape and all of them are sprouting. I can't comment on the fruit just yet, but I'm very happy that out of all the plants received and my neglect of them, only one didn't make it! Can't wait to get fresh strawberries from the garden!

Berries and other so-called small fruits generally don't require as much space as full-size fruit trees, and by growing several different types, you can enjoy home-grown fruit from early summer through late fall.
-
Dreaming of a backyard berry patch? An asparagus bed? Start with a raised bed. A raised bed isolates the perennial crop from invasive weeds and grasses that might creep into the growing area. All have shallow roots that don't compete well with weeds and that can be damaged by aggressive weeding tools.
