Multi-Use Humidity Grids

Humidity grids are just the thing for growing finicky plants — and drying your boots quickly! The secret to growing many plants, like orchids and African violets, is a humid environment. Here's an easy, economical way to humidify the surrounding air: Place these grids in the waterproof trays of our Light Gardens and arrange plants on top. Keep water in the trays and as it evaporates it will increase humidity around plants — the grids elevate plants above the water level so roots don't rot. Grids may also be placed inside Boot Trays to elevate boots above mud and melting snow for faster drying.

  • Heavy-duty rubber grids have multiple uses
  • Use to increase humidity around plants

The boot tray (2 small ones) do not come with this grid, so I ordered them to do that job. They are sturdy and attractive. An extra cost to using the boot trays.

Ditto on everything I said about the trays. They go together so very well. Any snow, etc. on boots goes onto tray and boot remains on grid.....dry!

Comments about Rubber Grids, Set of 2:

I'm using this for a self watering system with capillary matting for African violets. It works quite well for this. When it first arrived, the grid had a very strong rubber smell. This went away in a few days. It also had mold growing on it. I use Physan20, which will control the mold, so this is not a problem for me. After all, I have to control mold in the potting mix as well to keep my allergies under control, and the Physan20 does that. The grid is thick enough to allow plenty of water in the bottom of the tray, and it has little channels on the bottom to allow the water to move around. It suits my use perfectly! I'm using these both in the large boot trays, and in some other large heavy plastic trays I have.

Comments about Rubber Grids, Set of 2:

I was worried when I read other comments about the horrible rubber smell, but after letting them air out for a day, they are perfect with no lasting smells...and they are fabulously perfect as they fit into my plant nesting trays and are perfect for increasing humidity! The nice rubber "grips" the plant pots and keeps them from sliding all over....A+++ and you can't beat the price and service!

Comments about Rubber Grids, Set of 2:

I bought these to go inside the Large Boot Tray. They work great - they keep the boots elevated and the snow melts off and fall into the tray and the boots dry faster. Works great for muddy rain boots too.

These grids were purchased for indoor use as recommended for boot pans. The odor of rubber tires was so overwhelming it drifted throughout the entire house!

Good quality. I bought 2 packs because i wanted 3 to fit n the jumbo boot tray. I wish i could have bought them individuallyl. Not a big deal though as i am sure i'll find another use for the extra 4th one. The jumbo boot tray will fit 2 plus part of the 3rd one. They are super easy to trim down. Easy to cut and does not damage quality if you trim them. I was first dissapointed that 3 didnt fit, but relieved and happy to find i could cut them.
