This product would be more versatile if the row of cells stayed closed after adding the germinating mix.I prefer the deep-root seed starting system.

I purchased two of these. I used this (and am still using it) to start seeds for alyssum, nasturium, lettuce, spinach and carrots.
I like the design, and it works as described. It is pretty easy to pop the case open, take out a seedling and replant elsewhere. The covers are great for covering and fit over the bottom tray nicely when you don't need to cover your seedlings.
If the soil is very wet, you will have more trouble reclosing the case. Just let it dry before if you can.
I think I'll get two seasons out of these, and I plan to have multiple seedings each season. The whole thing is pretty well made, but I think the parts of the case that snap together may break before the rest of it. At least I can still use the tray and cover in the future if that happens.

I was really happy with the first one I purchased, and then the next year purchased five more. I like the way they fit compactly on my heating mat and under my lights. Easy to transplant to a larger container or straight to the garden.

I have had the large root trainers for over ten years and my only criticism of them was they were too large, that is long. These look just right. My experience is that they create amazing roots, as shown in the picture. Gives plants a great start for the garden. I move them directly to the garden from these, no need to transplant again into a pot.

- Avoid Root Damage

- Compact Seed Starting
I loved this product, I started impatients in them and they did very well. According to the instructions for the impatient seeds, it would be about 2-3 weeks before I could expect seedlings. I started my seeds in the root trainers and put the tops on them so they were like little green houses and I placed them on a heating mat and I had impatient seedlings 1 week. These worked great and I would most def recomend them to anyone who whats to start their garden from seeds.
Works as advertised. give good root growth, roots directed straight down.
Great consept as stated the roots go straight down
with no spiraling.
Love when you open it, plant falls right out no damage to root system, no pushing or pulling like other trays.
Would of gave it a 5 stars, the only thing I thought they could improve on is that the plastic is thin and when you close it, It dosn't clip together I had to use rubber bands to hold it together. There should be a better way to keep the 2 sides closed.
