Two of these came with the stoneware compost bucket which I purchased recently. I bought two more, just for back-up. While we empty our compost every day or so, and odor has not been a real problem, as we never put protien in our compost, I thought this would still be a good idea. The filters seem to work; however, about a month after purchase, the filter began growing some kind of mold or mildew. We put the cover in the sun for a few hours, and that seemed to kill the mold. We'll see if that was just something it 'caught' from the kitchen scraps or a problem with the filter. As it is, I plan to continue to use them with our compost bucket.

These filters last a lot longer than 2 months for me. I have however sometimes found fruit fly larva in the filter. Needs to be rinsed quite often.

Lasts a long time. When it starts to show any mold, just rinse under warm water, squeeze and let dry and use over and over and over again!!

I use the replaceable filters for my compost crock that sits on my kitchen counter. The filters do a great job controlling odor!
