        Best Uses

        • Fertilizer Production

        Comments about Red Wiggler Worms:

We place the product into garbage to break it down into mulch. The worms enjoy their work and do it well. They seem to form intimate relationships easily which can be a negative because we can't use the mulch without breaking up hundreds of families. This is in conflict with our social work profession so we may lose some sleep. But every spring we somehow overcome the guilt.

My worms are still kicking... I have a tendency to kill things. I am giving vermicomposting a try. I would definitely recommend this product but do keep in mind that they will only mail them when the weather is good.

                    Comments about Red Wiggler Worms:

I wasn't really confident about purchasing live worms from mail-order but the online catalog assured me I would be more than satisfied, so I took the plunge. The package arrived during the hottest weather on record for this part of the country and I was sure there would be worm casualties, but lo and behold, I received a cool, well-insulated bag of swirling earth that I just emptied into my worm bin (already laid with a 2inch bed of water-misted shredded paper) along with a few bits of kitchen scraps and coffee grounds (we're near Seattle, after all!) And WOW! The next day I could see activity...the scraps were smaller and worms were scattered between the bits. It's been several weeks now and I have lots of fresh, almost-composted earth to add to our new raised-bed veggie garden...whoopie!!!! Buy these worms with confidence!!!

                    Comments about Red Wiggler Worms:

What a great purchase! We didn't really have extra $$ to spend but glad we spent it on this. We're recycling, growing our own food and the kids love to show off their worm bin. Only negative--knowing how to aerate to keep the right moisture level has been a challenge in our coastal climate.

Ordered these red wigglers for our county fair. We had kids decorate worm bins and they got some of the worms to get started composting. The bins were gone in one day and the worms were the hit of the area.

Do not have much space in my garden for a traditional compost pile, but the red wigglers are doing the job for me in my garage. I made my own composting bin out of an old plastic storage bin and made it light-proof with aluminum foil, making holes in the foil as well as the plastic for ventilation.
