Jump-Start Your Tomato Growing Season with Red-Hot Teepees

With these protective cones, you can plant tomatoes outdoors up to 6 weeks earlier, and be harvesting by early July! The water-filled teepees regulate temperature, soaking up heat during the day and releasing it at night. Without the stress of weather extremes, plants can put their energy into producing fruit.

  • Teepees protect young plants from chilly temperatures so you can set plants out earlier in spring
  • Ideal for tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and other frost-tender crops
  • Reusable teepees have separate channels; won't deflate if one tube is punctured

Comments about Red Tomato Teepees, Set of 3:

These work great for my high elevation gardening. As soon as I put them on my plants the flowers turned to fruit immediately! The only drawback is that I have a hard time monitoring the fruit on the lower part of the plant to see when it is ready to pick and then it is difficult to get to it under the leaves of the plants. This will be the first year that I will have tomatoes and peppers in the ground (rather than in containers) into fall.

Comments about Red Tomato Teepees, Set of 3:

In the same self-watering planter box, I planted one tomato plant in a teepee, and another plant with no protection. The plant with the protection is 30%-50% larger by late June and very productive. The results speak for themselves.

Comments about Red Tomato Teepees, Set of 3:

Filled the set of 3 teepees and placed one each in the raised beds around my tomato. eggplant and sweet pepper plants.
The tomato is 36-40" tall in 1 month & covered with blossoms, there are a few baby eggplants and I already picked 1 full-size green pepper. The plants were about 12" tall 1 mo ago.

Comments about Red Tomato Teepees, Set of 3:

I purchased two packages and out of six units, four had leaks in several of the tubes making the teepee unstable and requiring constant refilling. However, poor quality aside, my tomatoes are larger and I had blooms earlier than ever before. I am not recommending this product because of the quality issues.

Comments about Red Tomato Teepees, Set of 3:

My garden abuts the ocean and struggles against the winds and sea mist. While it is still early in the season, the teepees seem to protect the tomato plants against the punishing salt air. They are thriving

Comments about Red Tomato Teepees, Set of 3:

I ordered this so I would get tomatoes this year. I was skeptical and so I put it on one plant and left the other one exposed. The plant with the teepee, died from disease. I am not sure if this is coincidence or not.

Comments about Red Tomato Teepees, Set of 3:

I started tomato seedlings in Seattle in late May with the Tomato Teepees. They are growing out the top 2 weeks later. I put the teepees around a tomato cage because I was concerned they would fall over.

Comments about Red Tomato Teepees, Set of 3:

I used the green ones previously, and the red definitely seems to generate more heat. The plastic is durable, and these really do accelerate growth in Spring to result in an earlier harvest. I put out my seedlings 4 weeks before the last frost and leave the tepee on all summer since the cages need to go on before it's time to remove the tepees. In the past, I've been able to wash and reuse these the next season, so they are really an amazing value. (I'm trying them with peppers for this first time this year, and they don't seem to be responding nearly as well as the tomatoes, and the tepees seem too tall.)
