Rubber Mulch Mailbox Ring - Item #37-485

We're sorry, but this item is no longer available.

Recycled Rubber Mulch Mailbox Ring

Put away the string trimmer! This recycled rubber mulch ring fits perfectly around a standard 4" mailbox post (can cut to fit if needed). These rings look just like bark mulch, but they're actually thick mats of recycled tire rubber that will stay in place year after year, and they suppress grass and tough weeds.

  • Rubber mulch suppresses weeds
  • Won't scatter like bark mulch
  • Choice of Walnut or Redwood
  • We also offer Recycled Rubber Tree Rings and Edging
  • 100% Recycled Rubber

        Rubber mulch mailbox ring

        Pros

        • Easy To Install

        Cons

        • I did not like this item
        • Needs too much care

        Best Uses

        • Around any small post

I realized that to use this effectively, I would have to remove it from time to time and use a weed-eater to keep the grass from growing up through the center hole. It makes a neat appearance, but I decided not to use this item since I can simply keep the grass down by using the weed-eater in the first place.

I purchased it to use under a bird feeder, but changed my mind when I saw it would get the droppings of the seed the birds throw out.

        Cons

        Best Uses

I had to cut the hole out a bit because we have a round mailbox post that was a little bigger than the square opening, and the material was a little difficult to cut. However, I'm glad that it is sturdy and not so flimsy that it can be torn up. We'll see if it keeps the weeds out for a long period of time though.

          Best Uses

The thing that is so great about the mailbox pole mulch ring is that it makes caring for our lawn easier. No more weeds or tall grass growing around the mailbox. It is easy to install, sturdy, an attractive mulch color, and was very afforable.

It functions well but needs an easier method for use with larger posts.

Makes the mailbox look nice and eliminates weedeater nicks. Better to install when 1st installing the mailbox - then it should not require cutting. I installed after the mailbox had been in the yard for a year and this meant I had to cut some of the interior hole out. The job required a bandsaw and was hard still.

I am not happy with it but is expensive to send back the center hole was too small to fit around mailbox post and ouside circumference too small to cut center bigger which is difficult at best.
I was not happy with it at all.
