Garden beds and landscape plantings always look their best with well-defined edges. These long-lasting mulch mats keep grass and weeds from encroaching and let you mow right along so there's no need to trim. Made of 3/4" thick rubber from recycled tires, they suppress weeds more effectively than bark mulch, yet still let water, air and nutrients reach the soil. This 5-1/2" wide edging can be laid to follow gentle curves, suppresses even tenacious weeds, and lasts for years.

Comments about 5-1/2" Edge Border:
I cringed at the price when I first purchased this product about eight years ago but it is very durable and unobtrusive so I recently purchased more to use in another area of the garden. It is helpful to unroll it and lay it in the sun so it can "relax" and use the sharpest cutting tool you have if you need to trim it! This product also greatly reduces the need to weed the area it covers.

Comments about 5-1/2" Edge Border:
I first purchased this product, about 10 years ago. I used it to border my lawn. I cut holes in it to accommodate the sprinkler heads. Its not easy to cut but a drill with a hole cutter bit will do it. The only problem I had was the Bramuda Grass that grew up from under the sod I had planted. I have just reseeded my lawn and have purchased it again replacing the edging not wanting the Bramuda to reseed itself. I like the redwood color better than the black.

Comments about 5-1/2" Edge Border:
Isn't heavy or difficult to install like cement mowing strips. Does require earth staples to keep it in position until the material relaxes into the desired shape.

Comments about 5-1/2" Edge Border:
I have built a low retainer wall in front of a new flower garden area. I use these in front of the wall to make it easy for mowing along it. The mower wheel runs along the rubber border so the grass is cut evenly -- no need to get out the weed whacker! I really love these and have also purchased the tree rings. Not only do they make mowing easier, but I use the red ones so they add a bit of color -- and they don't fade.

this border looks very natural and has managed to eliminate the need for us to edge along the fence line. It installed in just a few minutes per section and is holding up beautifully all summer long.

Comments about 5-1/2" Edge Border:
I use this edging around flower beds to separate lawn and bed. It is long-lasting and blends with nature in color and texture,so it looks good. To be perfect, it should keep out ALL stray grass and weeds but after awhile, I find vegetation that is so clever it grows right through the mat or else crawls over top of it.But I haven't found anything else that is better.Have also used the circles around small trees and they help a lot.The circle can even be plucked up after a year or so and re-used on another new tree when the first one is thick enough at the trunk to want more space.

Comments about 5-1/2" Edge Border:
This really looks nice and works well to line my flower beds, but it is very pricey for 10' lengths. I needed to buy 6 of them and hated having to pay [$] for basically a flower bed edge.
