Comments about Rainwater Urn, 50 Gallon:
This is a very sturdy barrel, I suspect it will last for years. My only issue is the small access on the top. It may be a challenge to clean.

Comments about Rainwater Urn, 50 Gallon:
The spigot is approximately 8 inches off the ground so unless the urn has at least that much water in it the hose must be used. Since the hose is at the base of the urn, the only way to fill a watering can is to find a way to position the urn so it is higher than the hose/watering can. Fortunately the urn is nice enough looking that I don't mind putting in on my deck. I then fill my watering can from the lower steps, however this is nowhere near my gutter, so I am collecting just rainwater. A base that lifted the bareel would be ideal. The bin for storing tools or a plant is another problem as water pools in it. I drilled two holes in the storage area and that seemed to elimated the rainwater pooling problem.

This was easy to install and is easy to use. I have gotten so many positive comments, just on its appearance. I am looking forward to purchasing its town next Spring.

Comments about Rainwater Urn, 50 Gallon:
I like the top design on the bigger barrels. Hard rains can't go in the small opening. The fact that it is recessed and screws on makes it hard to clean out. Part that is to hold plants is a dumb shape and holds water. I use this to collect rain off 1/4 of my two car garage and is a good size for that.

Comments about Rainwater Urn, 50 Gallon:
The urn is used by an area we have a large volume amount of water come off the roof which dug a hole in a flower garden. It has stopped the water creating a hole but after it is full and the small area in front of the entrance for water holds water and there needs to be good holes to allow the water to empty

Comments about Rainwater Urn, 50 Gallon:
I received the barrel in mid June. It rained a few days later and the barrel worked great. In northern California, it rarely rains in June. Perhaps my drought stricken neighbors need to get a rain barrel.

Comments about Rainwater Urn, 50 Gallon:
I've cosidered getting a water collecting barrel for years. [...] Setting it up was straight forward, but one part was no good. The hose clamp that holds the hose on could not be tightened--the threads kept jumping instead of tightening. Upon close inspection, wouldn't you know, that part was made in China! Typical Chinese junk. I'm pretty sure that there is an American manufacturer of hose clamps still around somewhere. I won't go on with a soapbox lecture, but we (American companies) must go back to buying American products! Anyway, the water urn is great. Right after I installed it we had a deluge and it fill up in about 10 minutes. My thirsty little plants will be smiling this summer.
