Comments about Rain Barrel Linking Kit:
The instructions called for 7/8in to 1 in drill bit. I used the 7/8 in bit as better to start small and then go to a bigger hole. I put the grommet in and then the tube did not go inside the grommet. When we took the grommet out and drilled a bigger hole and in putting the grommet back into the bigger hole the grommet cracked and is unusable. Very diappointed in the instructions and product.

Comments about Rain Barrel Linking Kit:
This connector was easy to install and works great. I put my barrels close together but it was nice that there would have been plenty of hose if I had wanted to space my barrels further apart.

Comments about Rain Barrel Linking Kit:
The hose was small in diameter & cheap I used 2 automotive breather grometts & an old piece of pcv
pipe worked great @ fraction of the cost.

Comments about Rain Barrel Linking Kit:
We need plenty of water storage here in Atlanta, as the rain is usually very, very heavy and the metro area refuses to stop building new homes despite our lack of an adequate drinking water source. The first barrel fills up in no time and the second is a necessity. I wonder how many could be linked in total?

Comments about Rain Barrel Linking Kit:
The hose went into the first barrel easily, because I could lay it on it's back and push hard. It's much harder with the 2nd barrel, because the hose is cut short (so it will be taut when in use). This makes it difficult to lay the 2nd barrel on it's back, and the hose does NOT go in easily. The instructions had no mention of using a lubricant, but I cheated and used a few drops of an organic skin cleanser. Guess that explains the touch of suds in the water.

Comments about Rain Barrel Linking Kit:
Did not use the linking kit.
I ended up connecting the hose to the bottom and leaving it on/open all the time so it was rerouting the water to other areas. This worked well. The linking kit was of no value. Connection for hose at the bottom of the unit could be improved as it falls off frequently. Idea for product line extension - Oblong or round conical inserts for the top to increase the area that gets directed into the barrel. This is especially useful for houses or other structures that do not have gutters.
