Years ago I bought a set of three trays just like these but green, and used them as BIG saucers for houseplants in a sunny window. Fewer years ago I bought the terrace (with an extra rectangular piece) to put in a floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall, window, and moved the three green trays into it. Perfect! If these trays were available painted green to match the shelving I'd buy them in a blink. But not these ugly things.

I display a number of plants in front of a floor-to-ceiling translucent glass window near my front door. The purchases are s described, and I chose not to return the one that was bent (nuisance).

I read other reviews before I purchased these trays, so I knew they'd be small and limit the size plants I can put on the stand. And I will reiterate those feelings. I love the look of the trays on the stand. But I'm storing them in the basement for the summer, while the stand and plants are out on the deck. I'm not sure I'll use all the trays when I bring everything indoors in the fall. The bases of most of my pots will fit in the trays, but not with the saucers. I love the look and chose to keep the trays, but I'm not sure I'd order them again. If I order a second stand (and I might in the fall to have one for indoors and keep one for summertime on the deck) I won't order the trays. For a display of African Violets...small plants in small pots...the trays would be perfectly functional and attractive.

Good idea to use this product. Tried to use shelving unit w/o trays and would come out to find plants all over the ground esp after a storm.

Is a very useful item to purchase if the pots you use on the shelves are small and/or heavy. The trays prevent small pots from tilting and helps distribute the weight of heavy ones.
