Emptied the entire bottle when 1st filled it in < 12 hours. Then slowly. Refilling the bottles - they either tipped over or came off completely. No "checking the soil moisture" feature, as in "Does it need water now?"

The drip system clooged to often. It isn't a good plant sitter when it quits so often.
I think its a great idea but it needs some redesign work.

Useful for plants that MUST be watered every day and for people who are away or too busy every now and then.

I remove the hose from the drip nozzle and use it to water individual vine plants. Works well but I must clean out the head, sometimes several times a week. Drip nozzle does not always work and is not consistent enough to trust for watering while away for a few days.

OK, I read most of the reviews (mostly to try to get some tips). This product should come with it's own bottle. It fit my bottles fine but I too do not drink soda so it's hard to get bottles and a lot of other people had trouble with the fit. The instructions are WORTHLESS. The dial is REALLY hard to turn, I'm still not sure which setting gives the most water (10 or 1)? I had them at 5 and they ran out in one day, so when I left for vacation I had to get someone to water for me, as these were worthless. And the numbers are tiny and the same color as the background so really hard to read. I will play with these some more as I still can't tell if they work or not. You definetly need to turn the dial BEFORE filling, I couln't turn it at all after they were wet. It's one of those products that you really wan't to work and seems to have a lot of potential but doesn't seem to live up to the claims. None of mine fell over though, which was a common complaint from other people. I was gone a week and there was wind and rain in my absence, (but then, they run out in one day, so I assume they were sitting there empty for 6 days - which may be why they didn't fall over) I'm still a little confused about all the range of reviews. I wonder if the people who like these just assumed they were working only to find out later that they aren't so great.

I am using eight of these in container gardens to supplement watering when traveling and to avoid drying stressing on hot days. When the drip spike is set on the lower drip setting about 50% stop working. All work well at settings between 5-10 or higher drip rates. So this product works well to drip water for approximately 1-2 days with a 2 liter bottle in my trials.

Using in hanging baskets at my summer home which is visited only on weekends. Baskets are much improved with additional metered water through the week.

The stopper does not fit the bottles very well and the bottle has to have something to lean on or it falls over and all the water runs out.

I haven't left for my vacation yet. I'm experimenting before I leave. So far the water bottle drains almost completely in one day. I started on the #5 setting. It is REALLY HARD to turn the dial, especially when it has had water in it. May be easier before it is ever used. I'm hoping the dripping slows down and lasts a little longer. Great idia, just wish it worked (and came with it's own bottle - I don't drink soda, so big plastic bottles are hard to come by)

I found some that work with 2 liter bottles well and use a clay spike. I had problems with the bottles tipping over and the spike popping out of the spike. I am going to clean them up and try again with smaller bottles.
