Comments about Potato Success Kit:
I haven't tried to grow potatoes is about 40 years, so I thought this would be a good way to get started again. It is easy to do, and so far, the plants are growing.
However, there is some confusion as the directions with the potato grow bag, and the directions with the organic seed potatoes don't jive. This is as far as spacing, mostly. Also there are more seed potatoes than can fit in one potato grow bag - even if you plant too many in the bag. I put in 5 seed potatoes in the bag, and I think that was too many. But I still have about 5 seed potatoes left.
We'll see if I get potatoes. Then I'll be happy.

Comments about Potato Success Kit:
Potatoes are coming up and it's almost time to add more soil. I think the grow bags are going to work out well. They drain well and I like the fact that I can pick up the bags and move them. I have a good feeling that my Potato Success kits will be a success.

Comments about Potato Success Kit:
I followed the slide show and instructions. These plants grow very fast,so don't be surprised if one week they are small and then grow tall quite fast. Soil bags in the kit are light weight. My plants are 8" tall and time to add more soil. -Can't wait for those potatoes/

Comments about Potato Success Kit:
I followed the slide show directions from Gardener's Supply and planted my potatoes. The bag gets heavy so I placed it on a wheeled plant stand and it allows me to move it for best sunlight and also the shade. I love all the colors of the bags although the success kit comes in black. My potatoes are just starting to break ground so I am already feeling successful!

Comments about Potato Success Kit:
I ordered one of these kits several years ago because my grandson wanted to have a garden although he lives in an apartment. It worked like a dream and I'm replacing it only because I've heard that potatoes need to be rotated every two to three years. This year three grandchildren participated and had a fine time. Now we ware waiting for the potatoes.

Comments about Potato Success Kit:
We did straw bale potato plants last year, which was a bit messy at the end of the season. Potato bags get rid of the mess and if the deer find the tender shoots we will easily be able to relocate the plants. Looking forward to a bumper crop!!

Comments about Potato Success Kit:
The kit was handy. I followed the directions exactly and it worked. We had a drought this summer so I had to water by hand every day. A pain, but doable. The plants grew quickly and there was no problems with insects or disease. The only issue was I bought a later season variety of potato (elba) and when I harvested them after 4 months of growing, I had only 18 potatoes. There were lots of tiny potatoes clinging to the stalks which I'm sure would have grown if there had been more time. But we are close to frost now. The potatoes look great and taste great. But their price per potato ends up being pretty darn high! Still, it was a good learning experience and I'd do it again.
