I followed the instructions and did not see the level of results displayed in the picture. I did get two batches of mushrooms, but they only had a few (3-4)mushrooms with each batch. For an expensive product, I expected much better results!!

bought button and the portabella. been 4 weeks had first round of buttons and no portabella. both showed the growth then the buttons started. maybe it was me but i tried to follow the directions as close as possible. buttons tasted good.

I have given this as a gift a couple of times to the gardeners in my family and all have been surprised at how wonderful it produces, how easy it is, and how much better fresh mushrooms taste!

My first concern was that since it is a mushroom, that the setup might grow smelly, but this was not a problem during the whole cycle. My only suggestion is to check on your crop daily once they start sprouting because they grow quickly.

I give this to my daughter-in-laws for Christmas. They love telling everyone that I give them dirt each year BUT they love the winter crop of mushrooms for cooking. Both get more then one crop out of the box then use the dirt in their gardens in the spring.

This was the second kit I bought. It was for my husband to try out. We love to garden and grow our own vegetables to cook with, and this way he could enjoy growing food even in the winter. He loved it! It yielded lots of beautiful mushrooms that we grilled and sauted for several meals. I bought a kit a few years ago to try and had great results. But this one was even better. The only problem we had was that we were so busy visiting family at Christmas, that he forgot about it for a few days, and six big ones did not get picked and over-ripened. We could not use those. But that was not the kit's fault. Make sure to check and mist every day or so. When they come up, they grow quickly, so check often. Once picked, they keep well in the fridge for several days if needed in tupperware or ziplock baggies. We are definitely getting another kit.

First off these mushrooms produce a lot, they are easy to grow, and they taste...well I am buying another kit. These mushrooms don't even compare to the store bought so if you like mushrooms try this kit out.

We bought this kit because we buy a lot of mushrooms and wanted to grow them ourselves. We followed the simple instructions to start the growth and waited. We liberally mist the mushroom box every other day and keep the box in our pantry/laundry room on the top shelf. Within two weeks we had our first harvest pictured. Followed by more than pictured the following week. Looks like there is another harvest to be ready at the end of another two weeks.

The customer service was incredible. I called and ordered this kit the beginning of November to be delivered the week of Christmas. I had nothing to worry about and the kit arrived three days before Christmas day. If you give as a gift you must intercept the delivery because there are mushroom pictures and instructions all over it. The box was clearly marked with the last date they recommend you start the kit and we had almost a month after Christmas day to open the box and start it. We actually did wait a week and just stored it in the pantry, not refrigerated, unopened and we have had no problems with the crop.

This kit is easy, well worth the money for the value, and the taste of these mushrooms is incredible.
