I'd be thrilled to get this jewel on sale, no matter how it works. It's a work of art and represents a time in history when a chaste couple would visit each other, usually chaperoned. This type of candle is representative of one that would be used to mark their short, about twenty minute, and(relatively)safe time together. When that time was up the candle went out. On occasion there might be lot of begging, even crying in order to advance the wax for another twenty, but that was rarely done. It sent the wrong message, that no didn't mean no.There were no dates out alone together, no time in the bedroom alone, even for a study time. No watching TV in the living room with the lights off. It took quite a while to move up to holding hands, and that was a privilege a man had to earn, along with a woman and her family's respect. This candle represents a different day and way of life.
