Comments about Patio Dripper Kit without Timer:
I live in a townhouse where I have a large potted garden. I thought I would be leaving for several months, and I installed this system to water my plants while I was away. I ended up not leaving, but it has been wonderful. I would have given 5 stars, but attaching the nozzles and hose end were kinda hard. I have had it for two seasons here in Houston, and it has kept my plants alive and well.

Comments about Patio Dripper Kit without Timer:
I used this dripper kit to water container plants at both ends of my patio -- 14 containers in all, and it really took the worry out of watering every day. Once the locations of the drippers are determined and put in place, all that's needed is to tweak the frequency of watering. I set my timer to water twice a day, at 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., for about 20 minutes. It's great for everyday use as well as while you may be on vacation.

Comments about Patio Dripper Kit without Timer:
We have over 40 plants, from small containers to trees on our deck. By adding this to last years purchase of the same system with timer, all the pots get watered morning and evening (no wilting, even when we are out of town) and the ability to chose emitter sizes keeps the little pots from swimming while the big ones get what they need.

Appears to be three choices of drippers. When to use which, little flat black disc dripper, little pointed red dripper, some parts made for different sized tubing included. [...]

Comments about Patio Dripper Kit without Timer:
This drip system worked great this last Summer. We set it up for our deck planters. We even added on a hanging pot that is four feet above the deck planters and pots. It saved us a lot of hand-watering this year and kept all our deck plants looking great.

Comments about Patio Dripper Kit without Timer:
I use this product with timer on my large south facing balconey. It used to take a ton of time and lots of wasted water to make sure my plants didn't wither in the summer heat. I have the timer set to water for 10 minutes at 7AM and 7PM - it's great! I no longer have to burden my neighbors (I have lots of pots) when I go on vacation! This would also work great for larger yards for vacation watering.
Some tips...
1) putting it together initially can be hard, it is much easier if the hose is warm...leave it in the sun for a few minutes before putting it together.
2) the instructions are on the back of the box (not in the brochure in the box)...and not really clear. Read it over a few times and you'll get it.
3) the pressure is somewhat controlled by the spigot valve...watch your system for a few cycles to see if the water is too much or too little and adjust accordingly.
4) I found a plethora of replacement and add-on parts for the RainDrip system at a large local garden center.
5) I use a two-way distributor at the faucet with one on the RainDrip timer and the other on a hose. I use the hose for supplementary in-between watering on really hot days. That way I don't have to mess with the timer - ever.

Comments about Patio Dripper Kit without Timer:
I have had this drip system in place for at least ten years now and have been very pleased with it. Last winter the box of parts got lost in a housecleaning shuffle and I was greatly relieved to find that the system is still available. It would be very helpful if it were possible to order more drippers without having to buy a second whole set.

Comments about Patio Dripper Kit without Timer:
I bought this as an addition to the kit with timer-I needed more drips, but not more hose or connections. It would be nice if the drips were sold separately so one could customize the set up.

Comments about Patio Dripper Kit without Timer:
I use this for my outdoor pots that my in-ground sprinkler system doesn't reach. It works very well when first installed. The biggest problems I've had with this are that it is nearly impossible to buy replacement drippers (Raindrip does not sell parts directly to customers, according to their web site) so in order to replace any drippers or get more of any kind that you might need, you have to buy an entirely new system along with all the extra parts you don't need. I'd like to see more flexibility so that I can buy only the parts I need, rather than only pre-packaged systems that come with parts I don't need and not enough parts I do need.
Also, you HAVE to bring it in for winter in colder areas of the country or the drippers will not work properly for more than one year - that means you can't make the installation too permanent.
I initially bought the versions with the timer, but the plastic screw threads on the timer strip very, very easily. Instead, I now use a digital timer with brass screw threads that besides not stripping, give me much more flexibility on how much and how often to water.
I would recommend this to a friend only in limited circumstances.
