Cons
Best Uses
- Strawberries
Comments about Newbury Street Frames:
I use the 14" stand with a tomato success kit planter, and I have strawberries planted in it. It's just the right size to tuck under the eave of the house on the patio, so that the plants only get morning sun. The only problem with using the tomato planter and the Newbury frame is that the cover to the water resevoir cannot be used--it wouldn't be able to open. I'm not sweating it though. If it proves to allow too much evaporation, I'll rig an alternate cover.

Comments about Newbury Street Frames:
I used two 23" planters in each of the 3 stands that I bought. You can put a lot of plants in a smaller space.
The only con is putting the planters in the first time and have to balance them against each other. Once in, the weight holds them firmly.
Pros
- Attractive Design
Cons
- Screws are rusting

Comments about Newbury Street Frames:
I bought the higher Newberry Frame for the tomato success kit, and it makes it so much easier to tend the plants at the higher height. It was easy to assemble although it doesn't sit steady - one of the legs is always off the floor. However, that could have something to do with the way I assembled it. Assembly was, I thought, fairly easy, and due to the weight of the tomato success kit, the planter is not going to fall over. The only truly disappointing thing is that after only a month I noticed two of the screws already starting to rust.

Comments about Newbury Street Frames:
I use three of them as a living 'fence' to hide the air conditioner. They look beautiful, block a lot of the noise from the air conditioner and are easy to move when necessary. I love them!!

Comments about Newbury Street Frames:
I recently added one of these to my nine roll around selfwatering planters as I had purchased a hanging tomato plant that kept drying out even though it was watered at least three times a day. This has solved the problem and I am planning to add a couple next year for cucumbers and grow them down instead of up the cages.

Beautiful, bountiful planters depend on good soil, fertilizer and careful watering. But to take your planters from standard to sensational, you need the right plants. Start with this simple rule: Combine plants with three different habits. In other words, thrillers, fillers and spillers.
