I got these boots for cold weather gardening and they are well-suited to this purpose. I have especially wide feet, and instead of ordering the next size up (eg., from 7.5 to 8) I had to get the next size higher yet(9). But to my surprise, they didn't seem too long in the foot. They would not be good if you had to do a lot of digging, but for tromping around the garden when it is cold and wet, these are excellent.

These boots are great. I have two pair of the mid-calf boot but wanted better coverage on my leg for muddy, rainy, snowy days. The footbed is tight but tolerable in my regular size. The calf fits wonderfully, not too loose or tight, and allows for the pants to tuck in nicely. A bonus: They keep my legs warm. One boot had a strange nub texture on the insole which can't be felt through thick socks. I didn't want to bother with the returns. These boots are very warm. Highly recommended for the person who spends much time outdoors or who walks a pet through multiple terrains, in many weather conditions. Not recommended for icy, snowy days (too slippery). I like the shiny finish which looks cleaner after long-term use.
