The slim-profile high-efficiency fluorescent lamps use 20% less energy than conventional fluorescents, yet have a higher light output that encourages healthy growth. The electronic ballast eliminates that annoying buzzing and runs cool, so it can be placed safely anywhere, and prevents your salad greens from overheating so they retain their flavor. Four growing trays make succession planting easy. Every week or so, simply fill a tray with growing mix and plant your choice of seeds. There are no expensive seed modules to order, and no special fertilizer packs. When you’ve harvested your salad, simply wash out the tray (top-rack dishwasher-safe) and replant. The trays are part of a unique capillary system that regulates moisture without daily attention, fed from the one-gallon reservoir base.
