Harvest fresh greens and herbs year-round in the My Greens Light Garden. It’s compact enough — and attractive enough, too — to fit on most countertops. This all-in-one growing system includes two high-efficiency, high-output fluorescent lights that can be raised as plants grow, our proprietary self-watering system, and four growing trays. For a continual harvest, plant one tray every week or two — plants will reach harvest size at different times. Simply fill the tray with growing mix and plant your choice of seeds (there are no expensive seed modules or special fertilizer packs). When you’ve harvested a tray, simply wash it and replant. Grow spicy mixed greens to liven up bland supermarket salads; grow fresh herbs to save a fortune versus store-bought. My Greens is made for years of use and stores neatly away.

Comments about My Greens Light Garden:
I'm in the early stages of usage. We are at the end of the food chain as far as fresh greens are concerned and have just enjoyed my first lettuce harvest. It will take some getting used to, but I know it will be invaluable when seedling time is here next spring.

Comments about My Greens Light Garden:
I put it on my patio in a small 4 tier green house and connected it to an outdoor extension cord because my patio doesn't get enough light. I'm a 1st- time gardner and it worked perfectly for starting my seeds. They were ready to transplant after 2 weeks! Very pleased.

Comments about My Greens Light Garden:
I am just in the process in learning how to use My Greens. I have never grown with lights before, so this may be my big problem, but I would have really liked information about different plants, ideas, how far the light should be, how do you place them, thinning, etc. If something like this had come with it, I would have rated it 5 stars, so I would like to rate 4.5 but no rating available. But lucky for me, I purchased it from Gardeners Supply and they are so wonderful to have conversations about it and I think I will get it soon.
The bottom line is: my plants are growing!
I purchased a timer for it and I would definitely recommend this too.
I would recommend for others. Although now I am thinking of something larger, it is a good first step and one that I will use for a long time, I think. Also, it does not have to be in the kitchen. It can be anywhere that there is an outlet, mine is in my pantry! I may move it to the living or dining room later just to try it... very versatile and easy...

Comments about My Greens Light Garden:
After hearing all the news about commercial salad greens having possible e-coli, etc., I decided to try growing my own, INDOORS. This little grow light kit is perfect. The seeds sprout quickly, keep watered through the mat wicking water up to the soil, and the light works well. This is a very well-thought-out design. I've already bought another one!

It doesn't have to watered everyday with the trough/wicking system. Put it on a timer & it's simple.

Great Design. Planted lettuce, basil and chives which seem to be growing at a more increased rate than those that I have growing in pots under other grow lights. I think this works great for me who has a tendancy to forget to water plants.

Love my Light Garden. It's perfect for growing fresh herbs year round. I also used it to start my onions, lettuce, peppers, cucumbers, watermelon and radishes before transplanting them outside. Friends always comment on it and ask where I got it.

Comments about My Greens Light Garden:
Right now my Simpson lettuce is now able to stand up straight. I have a timer on it for 12 hours. You man suggested I increase the time to 18 hours to improve the ability to have the seeds grow up straight.
They have water and sprouted about 80% of the planted seeds. Jury is still out until I see a little better results.
Thanks,
Dick

Comments about My Greens Light Garden:
This was mostly an experiment for me. I liked the idea of having fresh salad greens or herbs regardless of the time of year. Can you buy salad cheaper than buying this unit? Yes. However, I find the idea of having a garden growing inside and during the off season, delightful. I have found the selfwatering system consistent and helpful, but raising and lowering the light structure is difficult and frustrating. It is held in place by Orings, which are difficult to adjust when both hands are busy holding the light unit. I guess that's what husbands are for. Once I have my first "harvest" I'll know better whether the purchase was worth it. For now, I'm enjoying the heck out of it, and for a garden-neophyte like myself, worth the investment.

I love this lighting system. I have lettuce, basil and arugula growing fantastically well under these lights. I will never again have to buy these from a store as they will grow all year round indoors. Also using them to start my tomato plants. Watering system works great and all my plants seem happy and healthy! I have two of these now and have them attached to a timer so that I don't even have to remember to turn on the lights!
