So far, the knife is great. I've used it to dig up weeds in my yard; to extract dead plant material from a large pot; to break up ice on the sidewalk; and to measure the depth of snow....I was in Oklahoma over Christmas.

I just love this spade/knife. I primarily use it for planting outside of worked beds. It cuts roots and the forked point works up the ground really well. The blade opens bags easily. I can dig a good size hole of well worked soil (and mix in potting soil, compost, or whatever easily) with much less time and effort than using a traditional spade. The measurement scale on the blade is extremely helpful as well, especially for those of us who are challenged by "how deep is?" I liked it so much, I bought a couple as gits for friends.
