Lifetime Edging (Really!)

Let's face it: installing edging takes time and effort. That's why you don't want to be doing it over again next year. This unique edging has lasted 22 years in the ground here in Vermont's frost-buckled soil. It is made of high-density landscaper-grade polyethylene, with ribbed sides and soil-grabbing pockets to keep it in place. Its low profile lets mower wheels go right over it.

  • Great value for high quality edging
  • Gives a clean, finished look around plantings and garden beds
  • Built-in stakes resist frost heaves

Comments about Lifetime Edging, 20 Ft.:

This edging would be great if used only on perfectly circular beds- and if the advertising included this caveat. When we tried to gently fit it into our wavy beds, it cracked in one place and looked horrible in the rest. We bought many rolls and only needed to unroll one.

Comments about Lifetime Edging, 20 Ft.:

UNFORTUNATELY THIS EDGING DID NOT SOLVE ALL OF OUR CONCERNS ABOUT FROST HEAVING AND SECTIONS SEPARATING. YES THE ROUND TOP IS THE TYPE WE PREFER AS LONG AS ITS PLACED LOW IN THE BEDS BELOW GRASS LEVEL-IF NOT ITS EASILY CUT WITH LAWNMOWER-THE POLY MAKES IT ALOT SAFER THAN ANY METAL EDGINGS, IT WON'T CUT YOU OR TURN INTO SHARP METAL FRAGMENTS WHEN HIT BY MOWER, WE NEEDED TO BUY STEEL STAKES ELSEWHERE TO USE UNDERGROUND OR FROST HEAVE WAS REALLY BAD, ALSO FROST AND GROUND MOVEMENT MAKES THE SECTIONS PULL APART, WE SOLVED IT BY CUTTING AND OVERLAPPING PIECES THEN DRIVING THE STAKE THRU IT, WE ALSO HAD TROUBLE MAKING THE COIL GET STRAIGHT, PREFER 20 FT STRAIGHT SECTIONS, ITS AND OK PRODUCT, BUT NOT AS GOOD AS ADVERTISED AND CERTAINLY DOES NOT LIVE UP TO THE NAME "LIFETIME EDGING" WE ARE GOING BACK TO A COMMERCIAL EDGING CALLED EDG-KING,

Replacing all my edging with this

Comments about Lifetime Edging, 20 Ft.:

I've worked with multiple types of plastic and metal borders and have never really been happy with anything, but this is looking like a permanent solution. I ordered one 20 ft piece and installed it in a problem area between my lawn and some loose brick pavers bordering a plant bed. This Poly edging goes deeper in the ground that the steel border I replaced and there is no need for pins to hold it down. [...] However, after working with it for only a few minutes, rolling it in the reverse direction, it stopped trying to coil. After lining up the Poly with the edge of my lawn and tamping in the bottom with dirt, I relaid the pavers nice and neat. The rounded top of the Poly makes an attractive separation between the brick and grass and the lawn mower glides over it. Also, long grass no longer flops over on the wrong side of the border as with thin-topped edging. I was concerned about how to connect Poly sections together but find that the Poly seems stiff enough to butt together and remain firm. However, I may go for a seamless look and insert a short wooden dowel into the tube on the top of each piece to ensure the sections do not drift apart. Tight, 90 degree corners are not an option with this edging unless you cut it into two pieces. So I'm still looking for a better way of manipulating it to get a tighter corner, but I can definitely live with this one limitation. I am replacing all my existing edging with this Poly edging in high hopes that this will truly be "Lifetime" edging.
