These scoops are wonderful. They scoop up more leaves and lose less leaves when depositing them into the leaf bag than the old "rake and hands" method. Plus they can be used to smash the leaves in the bag so more leaves will fit and less bags will be used. We love them.

These big guys will fill up a large tip bag in 5 scoops! Don't use without gloves (as pictured), or you'll get sores where your knuckles meet the backstrap.

I have been using the hands to pick up piles of leaves that are in my garden beds. It can pick up a large amount of leaves, which is good. However, if you take your hands out to rake, it takes a few seconds to get your hands back into position to pick up again. Also, if it had claws on the end, it would better pick up the small debris that comes with the raking of leaves.

These are simple to use and so very handy. Leaf and debris clean up is much faster, its like having an extra set of hands. I have had a pair for a couple of years. My gardner also loved them. I bought my sister a pair this year for Christmas so she could return mine..... she found them very useful in cleaning up the leaves around her place as well. The are made very well... can't imagine working in my yard in the spring and fall without them.
There are other ones out there with that are not made as well. They have an elastic strap across the hand. In my opinion, they don't hold up as well as these.

use to scoop up leaves from a pile and put into a large bag. Can scoop up more leaves more quickly.

I borrowed a pair of these from my sister and loved them. I talked about them so much she bought me my own pair for Christmas. These are great for making a pain in the butt job a LOT easier.
