Comments about Lattice Screen:
I just got used to looking at the air conditioning unit and didn't realize how nice the area could look. Looks much better than some DIY lattice covers I've seen.

- Attractive Design
- Easy To Secure
- Visible At A Distance
- Weather Resistant
Cons
Best Uses
- Hides Air Conditioner
Comments about Lattice Screen:
We are using this screen to hide our air conditioning unit. It looks great and covers what needs to be covered. It did blow over on us once with blustery wind, but we decided to secure it together with a couple of pressure treated stripes of wood. That worked great. No complaints here.
Pros
- Attractive Design
- Easy To Secure
Cons
- Holes drilled improperly
Best Uses
- Back Yard
Comments about Lattice Screen:
First off, the positive: it does exactly what I wanted it to do, which is hide the ugly air conditioner unit on my back patio. I like the fact that it doesn't require you to mount/attach it to anything (some other similar pieces I saw make you attach it to the ground, which would not really work on my concrete patio). I've only had it for about a month, in the summertime, so can't really comment on its weather-resistance; it smelled like it was pre-treated with something, though, so I am hopeful.
However, as some other reviewers have pointed out, for some reason the pilot holes are drilled on the wrong side of the screens! When you put the hinges on using the pre-drilled holes, it leaves the back side of the screen facing outwards so if you look carefully when it's in place you can see the staples etc. used to construct it. It's not horrible (I didn't even notice while I was putting it together), but I don't know why they'd do it that way.
Pros
- Attractive Design
- Easy To Secure
- Weather Resistant
Cons
- Blows away in wind
Best Uses
Comments about Lattice Screen:
Use this in back yard around air conditioner (so that dog will not lift his leg on air conditioner!) - looks great! but could use support on the bottom so that it doesn't tip over in breeze.
Would buy again, just have to rig up bottom supports.
Pros
- Attractive Design
- Flexible joints
- Visible At A Distance
Cons
- Bends/Blows Away
Best Uses
- Back Yard
- Composter
- Front Yard
- Garden
Comments about Lattice Screen:
It does the trick. We'll have to see how it holds up in the winter, but I put a coat of Thompson's Water Seal on it before putting it together, so I'm expecting good results.
Pros
- Attractive Design
Cons
Best Uses
- Where ever
Comments about Lattice Screen:
To cover the view of the AC unit. Beware before assembling, pre-drilled holes were on the wrong side, had to reverse it. I noticed it AFTER I started to attach the hinges.

- Weather Resistant
Cons
- Fades In Sunlight
Best Uses

- Heat Pump Hider
Comments about Lattice Screen:
This is the second time I purchased this item. The first Screen lasted 10-Years before the wood would not hold the screws. I will be trying to extend the 10-years by clear coating the wood which I did not do on the first Screen. Another products from Gardner's worth the money.
Pros
- Attractive Design
Cons
- None
Best Uses
- Back Yard
Comments about Lattice Screen:
I use the lattice screen to hide a grill.
Pros
- Attractive Design
Cons
- Difficult Set-up
- Needs assembly
- Poor construction
Best Uses

Comments about Lattice Screen:
Bought this to hide our ugly air conditioner in the garden. I knew from reading previous reviews that the hinges would not be attached. Usually, I'd be unhappy about spending so much money and still having to screw on hinges. But with this product, I ended up being glad to do it myself, because the "pre-drilled holes" they placed on the screen were placed on the wrong sides of the screens, such that the less-attractive, heavily-stapled side would be showing, and the attractive, smooth side would have been hidden. The good news is, the hinges were easy to screw into the soft wood without the dubious help of these holes. And the screen is attractive and fits over the rather large AC unit just great. I'm glad it was on sale, because I'd have been unhappy paying full price for this sort of thing, otherwise.
Pros
- Attractive Design
Cons
- Incorrect Instructions
Best Uses
- Garden
- Hide airconditioner
Comments about Lattice Screen:
Beware: the predrilled holes for the hinges are on the finished side of the lattice. So once the hinges are on the unfinished side (side with all the staples)is what is showing. You can put the hinges on the unfinished side but the predrilled holes will still show and look as if you made a mistake while assembling the screen. May be worth the sale price but not the full price.
