Finally, a jumbo self-watering hanging basket that's large enough to accommodate creative combinations of multiple annual flowers or your biggest hanging ferns. Enjoy colorful, traffic-stopping displays that are so easy to care for. Add water to the soil from the top and up to two quarts is captured in the reservoir, where roots can access it, helping ensure season-long success. Simply remove the plants and transfer them into this basket. May also be used without the hanger as a tabletop planter.

- No Drainage At All

This pot does not drain. It simply fills up with water. It killed my beautiful new guinea impatiens in a matter of a few days.

The hanger clips onto the basket which does not allow for a strong 'grip'on the basket. The basket ended up falling and the planter shattered on my porch. The unit should be one piece. I was careful not to oversaturated in fear that it would be too heavy to hang. There is no way to fill the reservoir or measure the water level. The only way to ensure that there is enough water is to overfill it. Not a win win. Requesting refund.
Suggestion - Make unit one piece - not with a snap on hanger. and add reservoir similar to window boxes.

Bought the jumbo in black as well as the recommended soil for wicking. I was really looking forward to having a pot that I could transfer a hanging summer basket to and not have to water daily. The good news is that I would only have to water every 5 days. The REALLY BAD news is that when the reservoir is full of water the planter is extremely heavy so it can't be hung on my hook arm hanger that attaches to the porch railing (this is a very high quality hook and has had no trouble in the past with big planters). So I can't use it as intended. I've removed the hangers and am using it as regular planter on the ground which has frequent watering from inground sprinklers so the reservoir is not needed. Basically wasted my money. Stick with the smaller size if you want to hang.

I bought three of these in bronze to hang on my front porch but waited to put them up until the plants were established thinking I would need to water often at first. I used the special self watering mix. After the first week I have gone a week or more without watering and the flowers have grown by leaps and bounds. I have never had "small" container plants thrive with such infrequent watering. I went away for over a week durng very dry, windy weather and the plants did fine....could have gone longer. I love the bronze color with the brown tones of our house. I like them so much on their "temporary" perches on the back deck, I plan to buy three more for the front porch, but will wait for them to go on sale.

Pros
- Good size
Cons
- No instructions
- No Refill Hole
- No Wicking System
Best Uses
The jumbo size self-watering basket is just a large hanging basket with a water reservoir in the bottom. There is no way to fill the reservoir (other than watering the basket from the top)and no way to check the water level in the reservoir. If there is any "wicking" going on, it is because of the soil mixture we used. This basket does not appear to have any advantage over an ordinary hanging basket with a drainage tray underneath it.

I was very disappointed in the quality of the pots. One of them had a hole in the bottom and it didn't happen in shipping as the piece of missing plastic was nowhere to be found.

We water about once a week with these planters!
Just wish the hook was shaped differently so it would fit in the chains easier! But, we made it work!

Beautiful, bountiful planters depend on good soil, fertilizer and careful watering. But to take your planters from standard to sensational, you need the right plants. Start with this simple rule: Combine plants with three different habits. In other words, thrillers, fillers and spillers.
