Nursery Lead (Burlington): Supervise the day-to-day operations of the nursery with primary responsibility for service standards, plant health, efficient operations and interdepartmental functions. This person will help control costs by keeping nursery plants healthy. The ideal candidate has at least two years of direct customer service experience; advanced gardening and horticultural knowledge; and experience supervising a team, individual or tasks. This person must have strong communication skills and be able to stay organized, focused and calm in a fast-paced environment.
Design and Installation Associates: must have a minimum of one year of landscaping
experience, be able to lift 60 pounds, have a valid Vermont Driver’s License and clean driving
record, and have excellent customer service skills. Openings will start on or around the middle

Customer Service Associates: must have a minimum of one year of customer service
experience and must love working with the public. Gardening experience is a plus. Full-time
and part-time openings will start on or around the middle of April.
Perennials Associates: must have a strong working knowledge of perennials, combined

Database Developer/Administrator
Our IT team is looking for someone with a solid understanding of software development concepts and methodologies, relational database design, object-oriented programming and N-Tier architecture. You will be working in an environment that values industry-recognized best practices to build and deploy secure, extensible, scalable and maintainable applications. You will be expected to work with other members of the IT team and different business areas to translate requirements into smart solutions using Microsoft’s technology stack (Dynamics AX, .Net, SQL Server, SharePoint, Exchange, and IIS). The team will count on you to perform the database administration tasks for our SQL and Oracle servers to keep them running at peak performance.
Assistant Buyer
We’re seeking an Assistant Buyer who will use their strong computer, analytical and organizational skills to support the Buyer maximize sales and profits. Our ideal candidate has at least an intermediate proficiency in Excel and Word and has the ability to quickly learn new systems. This person should also have strong communication and organizational skills, an affinity for merchandising process and product-sourcing, absolutely thrives on managing scores of details and playing a valuable supporting role. Purchasing experience is a real plus. Catalog/Direct Marketing or merchandising experience is helpful.
Inventory Planner
We are seeking an Inventory Planner to join our Merchandising/Inventory Control team who will manage our product orders and maintain inventory levels to support all our businesses. They will use forecasted demand tools, prior history and order flow/completion to anticipate and meet our customer demands and meet our corporate fill-rate goals. This person will also be responsible for managing the drop ship process for all GSC drop ship SKUs across all product categories. Our ideal candidate has purchasing experience in a direct-marketing environment, with international purchasing experience. In addition, the candidate has a four-year college degree, or equivalent life experience.
Design and Installation Supervisor
Based at our store in Williston, VT, the Design and Installation (D&I) Supervisor will oversee the landscape design and installation team and deliveries of soil, mulch and plants. This person will work closely with the Commercial Manager to improve sales, profit and customer experience. The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years' customer service experience; three or more years in landscape design or a related degree; advanced gardening knowledge; and experience supervising a team or individual. In addition, the candidate must have good communication skills and be able to remain organized, focused and calm in a fast-paced environment.
